JAYASRI´ s creativity expands through film music and songs in award winning films locally Boodee Keerthisena´s “Mille Soya-Bonjourno Italia” and internationally “Machan” – European Venice Film Festival 2008 – Best Film- Europa Cinemas Label with 6 Jayasri original songs, directed by Oscar nominated Italian Director Uberto Pasolini, Film Score by Stephen Warbeck (Oscar winner) and Lakshman Joseph de Saram. The positive messages through their music and conscious lyrics paved them way to work with such professionals.
JAYASRI has opened and performed with such international artists as Third World, UB40, Alpha Blondy, The Wailers, Inner Circle, Scorpions,Temptations, Ziggy Marley, Falco, etc.....winning SLO Award (Sri Lanka Originals Awards) from SLBC Sri Lanka for their originality and crowned by achieving the winners of the Austrian World Music Award 2003 from 77 international bands. The two JAYASRI albums “Mod Goviya” and “Sundaree” brought several Nr.1 Hits locally and charts in World music Channels worldwide. “Saamaya-Peace” song from the brand new third album (Saamaya-Peace) has brought unity vibes to the long time war torn land Sri Lanka and Jayasri continues with their cult status in their homeland, spreading the message of Peace, Love and Unity.
