The self made singer Hesh, looks forward to take the music industry by storm with the release of his debut single “Oya Nethu” on Jan 2010. The single is available at all major digital retailers (Mobile Networks) & it is been played in the top charts of the Local radio stations. After his very first single “Oya Nethu”, Hesh became the face and voice of a new generation. Hesh’s songs caught the attention of many fans; as he gave priority to the traditional Asian music while giving a touch on contemporary Hip hop/R&B as well. In 2009 he put his economics degree on hold in order to pursue his aspirations as a solo artist while being employed at an international bank in Colombo. He has already signed up with a major record label in South Asia & presently working with key producers in the industry on his debut album.

Speaking with a refreshing mix of humility and confidence, Hesh says, “I’ve got a different up-bringing and I always want to do something new which will certainly add more to my level of competence. I would like my fans to see me as a unique artist who follows my own way. People always prefer a change. That’s what I have to offer.”

Hesh, what are you up to these days?
Presently, I’m working with Passan & Static K9 on a big project which will be there in my debut album as a promising hit. Hopefully it’s gonna take srilankan music to a next level.

I have no doubt that all your fans are waiting to hear about your debut album. So tell us something about it.
I started planning my debut album last year & so far I have completed 7 projects with 4 different producers such as Rukshan Mark, Nisal G, Rakitha & Ravihans & rest of the projects will be done by passan from CMB Records. Looking at my album I would say it is more into R & B & Hip-hop. I released my very first single called “OYA Nethu” last month & I’m happy to say that now it’s playing on most of the top charts on local radio stations (HIRU FM, Y FM, YOUTH FM). Hopefully the album will be releasing on this August.

What’s the main inspiration behind your success?
Fans. I do music purely for my fans. Your texts, calls, Facebook comments keep me striving harder to make new & better music. I wish I could thank them all individually for all the mails & notes of encouragement that I receive everyday.

How do you feel about being in the limelight?
It is a great feeling that I have never had in my life before.

Hesh, which three words do u think will describe you the best? Why do you think so?  
Dedication, Determination & Discipline. Because if u work on these three u will be a real successor.

My album is a mixture of Hip hop, R&B & World fusion. Key producers in the Music industry will be featuring as I mention earlier & the lyrics will be done by Tiron Perera. I’m happy to say that I will be working as a co-producer in my album to get the final output, the way I want.

Who are the main featuring artists/producers in your album?
Well..Rukshan Mark, Rakitha, Passan & Nisal G will be featuring as producers and Sri Lankan Hip Hop and RnB artist Static K9, No 1 rapper in asia, will be exclusively featuring in my album.  He exploded on to the music industry in 2004 with massive hits featuring with popular mainstream artists on songs such as Ran Ran Ran, Ahankara Nagare & Kelle remix, just to name a few.  He went on to release several number one hit singles on the English radio circuit for a total of 10 number one hit singles released and featured on to date. I believe it will add a real value to my debut album.

What is the name of the album and when are you planning to release it? Any reasons for giving it that name?
It’s going to be self titled album called “Hesh 2010” and I’m planning to release the album in August this year.  That is basically my name. So I thought of promoting/ branding my name.

I heard that you are working with an international artist too. Is that true? Please share your experience on that with our Gallezone fans
Yap…Sure. Me & static k9 started working on a project with a producer in Miami & will be working with few London based R&B artists as well. Stay tuned, we’ll get all the details soon.
