Moving back in time, we had six guys Roshan Adikari, Isuru, Kasun Jayawardana, Praveen Abeyrathne, lead by Janesha Abeygunawardana forming a band which would eventually be a part of the main suppliers to the Sri Lankan Music Industry and started off with a song called Sithuwili Athare, which was a mellow R&B style song. This song was introduced to the fans initially through the Internet and later been air played by most of the Radio Stations in Sri Lanka .

After this initial burst of Hipleat into the Music Industry, Isuru who was the Hipleat Rapper was to bid farewell to the band and was to pursue the dream of becoming a Doctor and thus had to fly in to Russia to study the art of medicine.

(Following this initial outburst into the music Industry, Isuru the rapper of Hipleat bade farewell to the band to pursue his dream of becoming a doctor, and thus left for Russia to study medicine.)

Meantime, Mr. Praveen (A.K.A. Man in Black and Lyrics Man) teamed up with a colleague of his to come up with the lyrics of an alternative rock song, which Praveen and him named “Diviya Pura.” This colleague, namely Shashitha was then invited by the members of Hi-pleat to fill in the vacant position of the rapper of the band. Shashitha in spite of being a huge devotee of rock music accepted this invitation to become the official rapper of the band! Oh and about his rapping, well that's for y'all to decide.

The main man Janesha and band mate Roshan are the lead vocalists of the band. With their gifted vocal talent something unique is introduced with every release of a song. Plus if y'all wanna hear awesome harmonizing, these two are the dudes are the ones to watch out for. Go Hipleat!!!

Now about the dude called Kushan. Well, people always wonder what his role in the band is. If that's what you were wondering, watch out for Kasun's crazy dance moves when Hi pleat is performing on stage next! It's sure to keep you entertained! Apart from dancing Kasun is the man behind designing and graphical work for the band.

Last but not least, the Man in Black, yes Praveen he writes the lyrics. The song Manike is MIB's master piece, where he single handedly came up with the sinhala lyrics in a flash.

Then there is ONE person, whom HIPLEAT respects the most, the great maestro, Achala Solomons. Hi-pleat would not be Hi-pleat unless for him. He is not a member of the band, but he guides and advices his brothers of Hi-pleat in the manner in which they should face every challenge that comes their way. He is the music composer in all of the songs you hear from Hipleat. Achala Solomons is da man!! Respect!
